New build - ground-mounted solar & heat pump
Air source heat pump paired with a south-facing ground-mount solar array for a new build home-stacking generation with efficient heat delivery to keep running costs predictable.

Challenge
The clients needed a clean, structurally efficient way to host solar on a new build plot where roof space was prioritised for aesthetics, but land allowed a high-yield ground frame with correct setback and screening.
Solution
We specified a Mitsubishi air source heat pump for space and hot water loads, then designed a 5.2 kWp ground-mount array at 35° pitch, close to due south, to align daytime generation with occupancy. Works were sequenced with the build programme so cabling and inverter locations stayed serviceable long term.
Systems & specs
- Mitsubishi air source heat pump
- Solar PV 5.2 kW ground mount
- 35° pitch, 0° from south
Equipment highlights
- Mitsubishi Ecodan heat pump (model per site design)
- Tier-one solar modules and inverter package
“We approached Graeme to have a ground mount solar system installed on our new build. He was very quickly able to get an area cleared and ready for the solar system, and his team had the frame up and panels installed in one day. Overall the system ended up costing significantly less than other quotes.”
